Year 12 Food Technology
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr O. Webb.
Students will develop a portfolio of design ideas through research and will use their ideas to design and manufacture a convenience meal for a stakeholder. Food testing, sensory evaluations and product design, food hygiene and safety make up this course.

We ask that a contribution of $110 is made to cover the take-home component of food for students selecting this course.
Course Overview
Term 1
The students will be selecting a stakeholder and conducting extensive research into eating habits and food choices. In the practical sessions the students will be looking at what makes a 'meal'and cooking the various components involved.
Term 2
The students will be completing a practical based assessment on Lemon Meringue Pie. This involves testing and trialing for efficiency and minimal wastage.
Term 3
Conceptual Design and turning it into an edible reality. The students must design and make the dish to suit their stakeholder's needs
Term 4
External on functional modelling. The students must write a report about their journey with a focus on how testing and trialing reduces 'risk'.
