Course Description

The Year 11 French course focuses on building students confidence in using the language to communicate within familiar contexts and gives them the skills to cope in everyday situations. One of the key aims of the course is developing the ability to speak and to interact with others in French. The course also aims to give students sound cultural knowledge of French society and etiquette. Students will start to use a greater variety of tenses and more complex language to be able to understand information about, and to communicate about: My town; Birthdays and celebrations; Making plans to go out with friends; Daily routines; Holidays; Health issues.
Students will complete three internal achievement standards, including two portfolios, and two external achievement standards.
