Course Description

This course involves the study of natural landscapes, urban settlements, disparities within and between countries and continues the development of geographic skills. More advanced field work and studies of global and local issues is also required.
Geography focuses on the relationship between people and the environments that they live in. This course is designed for students who wish to gain a good understanding of the world they live in and the challenges it faces. Level 2 covers the natural environment of the South Island High Country, the differences in development between countries and regions, global pattern of malaria, the issues of freedom camping in New Zealand, and geographic skills and concepts.
Recommended Prior Learning
Open Entry - An interest in learning about people and the environment; identifying issues and being solution focused is desirable.
